Alisa and I had met the year prior while working for a local oceanfront blues bar, she was a cocktail waitress and I was a bartender. While relaxing one afternoon in our patio garden amidst planters and various garden ornaments we contemplated our future together, and a brainchild was born thus beginning Designer Stone. We began making molds in our garage and soon realized we were onto something. We would sell our product at Swap Meets and Farmers Markets and quickly progressed to cold-sales from the tailgate of our pick-up truck. Our focus would be on quality and service, and the mortar of sacrifice and relentless effort would hold it together through thick and thin.

Years later, we are proud to say we sell to some of the most prestigious garden centers along the southern California coastline, including Sperling Nursery, Rogers Gardens and Walter Andersen Nursery.

We have grown to include such esteemed catalog companies like Smith & Hawken and Signals. Since succeeding in wholesale, we have purchased a facility in Ramona and opened our first retail store, simply called DS Garden Shop. Now in our latest venture, we are elated to offer our original designs to the world with the birth of dsgardenshop.com.

We are very grateful for all of the support we have received from our family and friends, but most importantly the customers who have made our every effort worthwhile. We look forward to servicing our valued accounts, building careers, offering quality cast-stone garden ornaments and creating the next great design. But for now, we are excited about the prospect of this site. Happy Gardening!
